Great little saw for limbing.
5 Stars
Great little saw for limbing.
I wanted a saw to limb some cedars and mesquites, and my arborist friend recommended this saw to me.At first, I thought he was crazy, recommending a battery powered chain saw.Turns out, he was right. This is a great little saw, as long as you aren’t doing anything heavy.Cedars and mesquite weren’t a problem at all, most of my work was about 8” diameter, and this little saw cut right through it without issue.I was unable to find the Makita bar oil, but used Husqvarna oil, works just fine. The batteries last longer than I had expected, but you’ll probably want another set or two, so that you can keep working while the others charge. Wouldn’t hurt to have a spare chain or two as well, you can sharpen chains after a day of cutting. While this isn’t a professional grade saw for heavy duty tree work, it should suit the average homeowner well. No mess, no fussing around with a gas saw, just a good tool that’s ready to work when you are.
